Thanks, Mark.
After one term, Mark Johann has opted to retire from the WMTLA Board.
An effective and energetic Board member, Mark was concerned that dividing his
time between his WMT and Florida homes wasn't serving the WMTLA as well as it
deserves.
Mark's chair will be filled by Vicki Kuzniar, a long-time WMT resident with a wide
range of contacts in the community.
WMTLA is grateful for the three years of energy, diplomacy, and effort Mark gave
us. We'll miss him at the meetings, but continue to trash-talk by email.
Good luck, buddy.

The two signs above were ordered so that
the Board could assess their durability. If
they pass muster, all our lakes will have
similar signs near appropriate roads.

Minutes of FALL ANNUAL MEETING
November 14, 2009:
Wee-Ma-Tuk Landowners’
Association (WMTLA)
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order
@ 7:00 p.m. by President Al Coleman. Other
board members present were Bill Phillips,
Vicki Strong and Chris Strong.
Next, the audience was treated to the
“world premier” of the first episode of
“Rocky Shoreline of the Shoreline
Investigations in THE CASE OF THE WMT
POSTCARD.” It debuted to a clapping
ovation, followed by the rest of the
business meeting.
President Coleman introduced current
board members and welcomed new
landowners’ to the association. Thank yous
were delivered to appropriate persons
assisting with the Annual Fall meeting.
Bill Phillips reviewed the financial status of
the WMTLA and shared the treasurer’s
report including a visual of the report.
Vicki Strong reviewed the paid membership
and compared it with last year’s
membership. We are down a few
percentage points. She encouraged
current landowners to share “new”
landowners’ names with the board so the
board will be aware of their new ownership
and can welcome them to the community
and recruit board membership.
Old Business:
Fish Stocking: Chris Strong shared a fish
stocking report including a visual chart
showing lakes stocked and
varieties/numbers of fish stocked in each
lake. He also shared a video of the actual
stocking on October 26. Shock analysis will
be executed at the appropriate time
designated by IDNR.
Lake (s) Signs: Many signs throughout
Wee-Ma-Tuk need to be updated. The
committee is working on a project to identify
all lakes in WMT with appropriate name
signs.
Truax-Traer Mine site (Red Ember Project):
Senator Kohler’s office reported there has
been no update since the Spring Fling
regarding progress of the East site. Signs
of activity have been sighted this week.
Website updates: Chris Strong reviewed
navigation of website. He noted we have
several businesses that have purchased
advertising space on our site. The drawing
for a year’s free site advertisement was
Tony Fahrenbruch, Walker Mowers.
Septic Tanks: The board is still pursuing
septic inspection advice from the Fulton
County Health department. If you have
problems in your area, please contact the
board.
Big Lake Health: Lake WMT was tested in
six different locations by the Fulton County
Health Department. Results are well within
the recommended criteria and have been
added to the Wee-Ma-Tuk website. Smaller
lakes will be tested in 2010.
New Business:
Water District: Kelly Duchardt submitted the
following report to the board. 300 water
meters have been installed. Very minimal
problems have been encountered with the
new meters and accurate reading of all
meters can be accomplished in 1 and ½
hours. This will correct the late detection of
water leaks. The 2007 water rate increase
levied by Canton was absorbed by the water
district. The Water District board is meeting
Monday, November 16. The board will
probably vote to increase water bills
because of increased costs and insufficient
funds.
Drainage District: Jim Rickard reported that
the lake levels have been high this summer
and fall because of excessive rain fall. The
old outlet withal boards in place is one inch
lower than new overflow. Currently 4
boards are out of old overflow to reduce
height of lake. Mr. Rickard noted that a law
suit had been filed against a landowner
regarding nonpayment of the drainage
district assessment. If you have not paid,
please do so. Mr. Rickard was appreciative
of receiving the grant to work on dam last
summer.
Road Commissioner: Allan Woodruff
submitted the following report to the board.
He has submitted the winter snow removal
plan to the township board. It is essentially
the same as last year and includes clearing
the side roads. He will submit a written
report to Chris Strong to be posted next
week on our website at weematuk.net.
Suggestions for board to research:
Improving cell phone service.
Board members: Terms expiring this year
are Chris Strong, Lee Trotter Carew and
Mark Johann. Chris and Lee have
volunteered to serve another 3 year term.
Mark wishes to leave the board since they
now live a large percentage of the year in
FL which he feels would hamper his service
to the community. The board extends
gratitude to Mark for his service to the
board these last 3 years. Vicki Kuzniar was
nominated to serve a 3 year term on the
board. She was voted unanimously to fill
the vacancy.
Next board meeting date is Tuesday,
December 1 @ 7 p.m. @ proshop.
The meeting was adjourned and prizes were
distributed.
Respectfully submitted,
Alan Coleman
President
Next Talk-o Night: Tuesday, january 19, LaFiesta, 6 pm.
